Tavish Nanda, M.D.

Tavish Nanda, MD grew up in San Francisco, California before moving to Los Angeles for undergrad – where he studied biology and screenwriting at the University of Southern California. After four years he switched coasts, pursuing his medical degree and residency training at Columbia University in New York City, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Nanda then completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina at Tufts University / Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston in Boston, Massachusetts. As one of the top fellowships in the country, Dr. Nanda has experience with all elements of surgical retina, from complex tractional detachments to secondary IOL placement.

Dr. Nanda is board certified in ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Retina Specialists. Over the years he’s published a myriad of first author papers and presented on both the national and international stage. During fellowship he also served as a sub-investigator for over two dozen clinical trials, including Vabysmo and Syfovre.

Dr. Nanda also has a longstanding interest and commitment to global health, having served as a global impact fellow in Ghana, where he performed retina surgery for patients living in poverty. Over the years he’s led medical mission trips to Israel, Mexico, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Nanda has always been drawn to the finesse and detail of ophthalmology. He greatly values the ability to restore vision and improve the quality of life in his patients.
