Jerry Neuwirth, M.D., is an honors graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and the State University of New York at Brooklyn, Downstate Medical School. Dr. Neuwirth completed his residency in internal medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York and a residency in ophthalmology at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia-Presbyterian, where he also served as chief resident. He completed a Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Neuwirth is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology, at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. 

 

Dr. Neuwirth has served on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians, and as Vice President of the Connecticut Retina Society. He remains affiliated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retinal Specialists, Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians, and the New England Ophthalmologic Society. He also served as Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Hartford Hospital for many years. Dr. Neuwirth has been selected as one of the best doctors in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine for 22 consecutive years.
